In February 2012 Angus Stone premiered the video for his new solo song Broken Brights, and Isabel was in it. Broken Brights is the first single from Angus’s first solo album. For the video, the couple filmed themselves using a hand held camera whilst out enjoying Redwood Forest in California, and the video follows them as they run and dance through the forest, play with water in a stream, watch birds in the sky, and share a kiss.
Angus says of the video, “This clip was filmed by Isabel and I in the heart Redwood Forest, California. We planned the trip when we first met and it was here we traveled together for the first time. I thought I would bring along an old camera and capture some love along the way. With this old camera we didn’t know whether it worked or not as it was film… we knew it clicked over but that was all we knew… so it was a great feeling to get the rolls back some months after and see the footage had marked our time in the woods as a love fossil of images.”

In late February 2011 a music video was released featuring Isabel Lucas and actor Lukas Haas, calling themselves Lucas/Lukas and performing a song they had written together entitled ‘Made For You’. The song had an electric-romantic-indie-pop sound. It was unclear whether they were calling themselves an official band, whether this was a one-time thing or if they’d be releasing more music. The video was made up of footage of the duo recording the song in his studio in LA, and showed Isabel on vocals and guitar, and Lukas on vocals, drums and the piano.
However! Two weeks after the video was released, it was revealed that the song was actually by little-known Portugese band The Gift, and that Isabel and Lukas were performing the lead roles in the music video for it. They didn’t write, nor where they actually singing, the song – it was just a trick, and a clever marketing ploy! A further ‘making of’ video was released, which showed the band talking about “getting a couple of famous actors … that would pretend the new The Gift song was theirs … after two weeks it became known that the song, and the actors, were not taking part in their own musical project, but instead were the leads on The Gift’s new music video.”
The video was filmed and recorded in Lukas’ studio in Los Angeles. It was directed by Carleton Ranney, and shot and edited by Real Sprague and Destin Douglas.

In December 2010 the music video for Australian singer Frally’s new single “Casualty” was released, and it featured Isabel Lucas in it. The video also ‘starred’ George Byrne, a fellow Australian whom Isabel is good friends with and also appeared in the Tourism Victoria advert video with (they were reported to have dated a few years ago, too). The video shows a young couple – Isabel and George – playing around in a car whilst he drives. As he falls asleep, the car takes a knock, and they jolt around.
Frally is a folk musician (her full name is Frally Hynes) who comes from Adelaide, Australia, and now works in Nashville. The song is from Frally’s album ‘The Light’, which is said to be about the painful split between her and her former partner, Ben Folds, and this video was made to illustrate and dramatize the “collateral emotional damage” that came with that.
The video was directed by Chris Groban, and filmed in Palmdale, California, as well as various parts of Los Angeles (thanks to Chris Groban for sharing that information with Isabel Lucas Online). Alice Gu was the cinematographer, and Sean James and Lynda Esparza did the hair and make-up, respectively.
